MSci Projects- More details to follow:
- Topic : Variable Stars in NGC 188
- NGC 188 is a circumpolar open cluster containing many stars between R = 15 and R = 19 magnitude. By taking repeated CCD images through a R filter, variable stars can be identified.
- Sequences of images taken every few minutes over many hours and several nights are compared and the brightness of all stars in the field measured using 2-d photometry software. Approximately 10 variable stars have so far been identified
